Topic: Influential Risk Management - Navigating Mega-Projects and Mega-Personalities

Description: Big Projects, Big Risks.

Ryan Smith, P. Eng. has spent the last 10 years of his project career-defining, characterizing, and quantifying risk on the biggest megaprojects in Canada. The stakes on these jobs are high and the outcomes uncertain, and there are many stakeholders internal and external that have much to lose.

How do you develop and implement a risk management program that withstands the harshest critics?

Oh - you are modeling! Great! Is your model robust enough? Too robust? How do you handle the multiple frames of reference your stakeholders bring? How do you deal with biases and groupthink?

Ryan believes the bigger or more challenging the task is the simpler the vision to execute it must be. Remember - the entire universe of risk management exists between 0 and 1. Come and participate in this discussion with Ryan and take away some tricks and ideas to turn your project risk management work into influential risk management work.
