Topic: People Change Management and Projects

Description: This introduction on how to manage the people side of the changes inherent in projects provides you with an understanding of why change management is important to ensure a projects success and also outlines some concepts you should to apply during your project life cycle to assist you in achieving you project objectives more smoothly.

Speaker Bio:   
Linda Vella 

specializes in project and portfolio management processes, Enterprise Project
Management Office set-up, change management and strategic planning with an emphasis on
Strategic Transformation. She was a member of senior management teams at Merrill Lynch, TD
Bank, Aon Risk Services and Northbridge Financial.


Ms. Vella’s focus has been on developing and implementing best practices in project, program
and portfolio management ensuring that the business and IT worked closely together to achieve
strategic goals while making sure all parties were embracing enterprise change management
concepts.


Ms. Vella served for a year as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Project Management
Institute (PMI), during her 6-year tenure as a global Board member.
She has been invited to speak internationally on many diverse topics related to project
management and has also been quoted in several newspapers internationally about the growth
and acceptance of project management worldwide.


A graduate of the University of Toronto, Ms. Vella holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, the Project
Management Professional (PMP®) and Prosci Change Management credentials. She has also
been honoured as a PMI Fellow by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for her contributions
to the profession and the association. She has taught project and change management to both
corporate employees and university students and provides coaching and mentoring to associates
and PMI members.
