Topic: Nestle Business Excellence - The importance of Effective Stakeholder Management to help ensure the survival of Nestle for the next 150 years!

Description: Nestle SA is the largest food company in the world operating in over 80 countries with revenues of $92 billion and over 300,000 employees.

Nestle Business Excellence was a Global initiative introduced in 2015 with the goal of strongly positioning the company for continued growth and performance.  Nestle had always supported a decentralized structure in order to stay close to the local consumer and maintain agility in execution, but recognized the need to better leverage their size and scale - it needed to serve its markets and businesses more effectively and cost efficiently.  Four key objectives of this initiative were to: 1) provide fuel to support growth, 2) enable agility, 3) deliver world class business services and 4) transform Nestle for success in the next 150 years.

Doug will be discussing the implementation of this initiative in the Canadian market.  He will talk to PMI DHC members about the importance of Stakeholder Management.  This will include understanding the various styles/personalities and potentially conflicting objectives of key stakeholders and ideas/methods for obtaining their commitment to a “must do” initiative they may not see value in.  How do you deal with “who are you to tell me what/how to do things, we know our area best and already follow best in class processes”?  The presentation will also review the importance of appropriate timely communication at all levels of the organization as well as the application of critical skills to “lead without authority”.

This will be an interactive session and members will be encouraged to share and discuss ideas/past experiences as a group with the goal of providing useable techniques for future application.
