GENERAL MEETING INFORMATION:
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Port of Whitby Marina - Avalon Lounge, 301 Watson St. W. , Whitby L1N 1A2. Doors open at 6:30pm, meeting from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.  Join us for an evening of celebration, Pizza, Beer, or Wine and a discussion of the 2018/2019 Chapter Operations and Activities. 

Registration includes dinner and one (1) drink ticket. (Additional drink tickets will be available for $4.00)

Presentation Topic: Ontario is home to a successful nuclear mega project!

Description: As Canada’s largest clean energy project, Darlington Refurbishment is well on its way to safely completing the first of four units to the required quality, on budget and within schedule. The project involves the planned replacement of reactor core components as well as other modifications and maintenance that will allow the plant to safely produce clean low cost electricity for another 30 years. The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview ofthe project scope, structure and status of the work on Unit 2 and preparations for Unit 3.

Marc Paiment graduated from University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor in Applied Physics in 1990, subsequently joined Ontario Hydro in Operational Safety and Licensing.

Marc was matrixed into various projects over the first 9 years of his career in nuclear safety and subsequently moved into the project management organization. He had growing accountabilities in reactor instrumentation projects before assuming a project manager role in 2006 with Inspection and Maintenance to work with MDA to develop a long reach robotic inspection system and execute the inspection in the field. Marc moved over to the Darlington Refurbishment project in 2011, first launching the Islanding Project then moving into a project manager position with the Retube and Feeder Replacement project.

Marc is currently the Unit 2 RFR Project Director, leading a team of 60 people deployed into an Integrated team model to complete the first unit safely, with required quality, on budget and on schedule.

Marc is a Charter member of the Durham PMI chapter and enjoys reading, motorcycling, and family travel to the Caribbean.
