Are you interested in volunteering with PMI-DHC?

Do you have 1-2 hours per month to share, or would you prefer to be fully engaged as part of an active project team (5-6 hours per month for 3-4 months), or within a department (5-10 hours per month)?

We will be pairing volunteers and opportunities on Saturday February 2nd, 2019 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Whitby Central Public Library - Meeting Room 1A.

1 person Volunteer Project Manager Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the Volunteer Project Manager will utilize their project management experience to assess current needs related to volunteer recruitment, to creating the related project plans, and monitoring progress to ensure the project(s) progress toward completion and required procedural steps are completed fully and in a timely manner.

2-3 ppl Special Projects Volunteer-Intranet The volunteer will be working as part of a team in charge of leading the requirements gathering, design and creation of the chapter's Intranet site using Google Sites and Google Docs. President & Director of Governance
1 person Graphic Designer Use any graphics program to create royalty free graphics for web, Social media and e-mail content. Looking for a professional individual who assembles together images, typography, or motion graphics to create a piece of design.
The Graphic Designer role will create and execute visual aspects of marketing materials including website, social media, and e-mail blasts. The incumbent will collaborate on multiple projects with our internal team and director of communications, manage deadlines and maintain a high standard of work. You will create info-graphics, design and layout essential material, create and edit short videos and assist in developing and executing communication plans.

1 person Content Blogger The role of the Content Blogger is to produce a wide variety of content for the web or other communication channels (email, social media etc) related to the interests of Project Management professionals and aspiring professionals who want to know more about the profession.  To be able to create compelling blog posts for social media, e-mail content etc. and be able to drive more value through blogs and articles. This position requires some creativity as well as the ability to use data-driven insights to write better material. Content writer responsibilities include conducting thorough research on industry-related topics, generating ideas for new content types and proofreading articles before publication.
Working with the communications committee to deliver material on time and in compliance within PMI-DHC policies
Director of Communications
1 person Web Content Specialist The role of the Web Content Specialist is to create, update, maintain and administer the chapter’s website -www.pmi-dhc.caas a member of the communications committee.  The role will require collaborating with other teammates in creating a unified message to chapter members and members of the PM community. This position requires both technical and creative skills to meet the expectations of the chapters audience. Language that web browsers use to interpret and compose text, images, and other material into visual web pages. Default characteristics for every item of HTML mark up are defined in the browser. Way of writing HTML that emphasizes the meaning of the encoded information over its presentation (look). Director of Communications
1 person Communications Committee Chair Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Committee Chair will be primarily responsible for facilitation and/or creation in the creation of content for our monthly newsletter, Social Media Channels, member email communications, website content and other chapter publications.  The Communications Committee Chair will be working as the lead with various PMI-DHC volunteers, Communications committee members and board members to gather, review, design and proof-read content to maintain consistent messaging throughout our publications. 1+ ppl MONTHLY MEETING VOLUNTEER TEAM The volunteer will be working as part of a team in charge of leading the requirements gathering, design and creation of the chapter's Intranet site using Google Sites and Google Docs. Director of Membership
6 ppl  PMP Prep Course Instructors  The volunteer will be working as part of a pool of instructors for the PMP Prep course held 3 times each year and will deliver the material provided by Velociteach.

Although primarily responsible as back up instructor for the Risk Knowledge area, may be asked to cover other areas as required.
