Every project is a deliverable of a complex adaptive system operating in a complex adaptive environment. As a PM, your job is to deliver these projects successfully; on time on budget and fit for the purposes of your customers. In 21st century professional services businesses, this is not easy. Reality is subject to chance. Traditional, deterministic project management methodologies that do not include some aspects of random variation are doomed to fail in this reality. Therefore, to be successful PMs, we need a management method that works with probability.
